Dr Andrea Viviana Waichman, a biologist, is the Head of the Biological Sciences Department at the federal university of Amazonas – UFAM (2023-2025). She previously served as UFAM Dean of Graduate Studies (2005-2009), Scientific Director of the Amazonas Research Support Foundation (2012 – 2017), and Director of Innovation at UFAM (2017).

Dr Waichman has extensive experience in evaluation and monitoring of postgraduate programs, international scientific cooperation, scientific research projects, management of research and innovation networks, public funding of research and innovation, public management of STI, preparation of public call for STI and strategic management. Her research interests include integrated human and environmental risk assessment of chemicals, environmental impacts and sustainability.
