Arturo Biglia joined FOGGS in June 2020 as Junior Policy and Advocacy Officer. Arturo supports the Foundation’s advocacy efforts, conducts policy research in global governance, global sustainability and global citizenship, as well as European and international affairs, identifies fundraising opportunities and elaborates fundraising strategies, manages the FOGGS office and directly supports the FOGGS Executive Director as executive assistant.
Arturo is a young international affairs professional with experience in conflict prevention and resolution, democracy support and election observation.
Prior to joining FOGGS, he was a Schuman Trainee of the European Parliament, in the Directorate-General for the External Policies of the Union, Democracy and Elections Actions Unit. He was also an intern at the Spanish branch of the European Movement (Movimiento Europeo) based in Madrid, and at the FPS Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation (Belgian Foreign Ministry). Arturo has also been working for more than a year as a research assistant at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE PA) in Vienna and Copenhagen.
Arturo holds a BA in human and social sciences (minor in population and development sciences) and a MA in international relations (diplomacy and conflict resolution) from Université catholique de Louvain. During his Master’s, he took part in a Mercator exchange program in Santiago de Chile. Arturo speaks French, English and Spanish, and has a basic knowledge of Dutch.
